Earlier in the Medieval period, palmistry was essentially associated with witchcraft and dark rehearses. With the arrival of the Renaissance, palmistry began to flourish gaudily amongst the masses. It was because during this time many intellectual minds started to apply rational foundations to the principles of this art. Palmistry was soon seen as a greater science all over the world.




Famous personalities like Paracelsus in the fifteenth century and Fludd in the late sixteenth century conveyed uprightness to palmistry with the help of the notable mentions in their works. Thereafter, Doctor Carl Carus, who treated the king of Saxony referred to hand reading and matching palms to find out more about the person. Advancements in the field of genetics, psychology, and forensics have driven palmistry into modern times. Palmistry has also been adopted for medical researches. It involves close analysis of skin patterns and palm lines to understand genetic deformities and their co-relation with the unfamiliar markings in the hand. Researchers have stated a connection betwixt the distinct fingerprints and diseases related to the heart. Nowadays, the study and practice of palmistry are appreciated all over the globe. It has propelled from merely being an act of fortune-telling to more scientific and medical realms. New professions have emerged around it including the well-known palmists, guides, and coaches.

The information regarding palmistry can also be spotted online as more and more palmists are ensuring their presence on the internet. Lakhs of books are being written on the very subject of palmistry and hundreds of people are indulging in hand reading clubs and organizations. Gone are the days when an air of doubt and misconceptions surrounded it. Now palmistry is well acknowledged and thoroughly practiced throughout the world.
